1 Million Steps 4 OCD Walk | Sacramento

My husband Marshall and I are participating in the “1 Million Steps 4 OCD Walk” to raise awareness for OCD and related disorders on June 6th in Sacramento. OCD is a debilitating neurological disease that affects approximately 2% of the population. That means for every 100 people you meet (including children), 2 people may have OCD. Sadly, less than 10% of people with OCD actually seek any kind of help, either out of shame and hiding their symptoms, misdiagnosis by well-meaning doctors and therapists, or not recognizing that they have OCD or understanding their own behaviors.

The OCD Foundation provides excellent programs, services and education for OCD sufferers as well as funds research about OCD to help children and adults overcome OCD. I am very passionate about helping people with OCD. I have been a member of the OCD Foundation for the past 6-7 years and have attended three of their annual conferences in Washington DC, San Diego and Chicago and several of their intensive training programs in Los Angeles and Wisconsin. I am a member of many mental health organizations and I must say that the OCD Foundation is one of the best organized and most committed to its mission.

We’d like to invite you to join us at the walk if you are able. However, I know many of you probably can’t attend the walk with us on June 6th due to timing or living out of town. So I’d like to ask you to consider making a small donation to our fundraising campaign to support the OCD Foundation’s initiatives. Any amount is appreciated. If you would like to register to walk with us or make a donation to this cause, please click on the link below.

Thank you very much for your support!
